Shiva is very popular in Hinduism and is frequently considered as the 'Supreme God' and the patron of Yoga and Arts.
Shiva exists in many different forms, the highest level considers him limitless, unchanging and without form whilst another notes him as an omniscient yogi living on Mount Kailash as well as husband to Parvati and father to Ganesha and Kartikeya.
He is known as a fierce God and is often depicted slaying demons with his ritual trident known as a Trishula. In this metal casting he is shown in the Nataraja form (The King of the Dance.) He is dancing in preparation for the destruction of a weary world, allowing for Creation to begin again.
